Speech By Chetan Bhagat at Sybiosis College - Must Read

A thinkable and motivational Speech by Chetan Bhagat at Symbiosis College ..must read...

Don’t just have career or academic goals. Set goals to give you a balanced, successful life. I use the word balanced before successful.

Balanced means ensuring your health, relationships, mental peace are all in good order.
There is no point of getting a promotion on the day of your breakup. There is no fun in driving a car if your back hurts. Shopping is not enjoyable if your mind is full of tensions.
"Life is one of those races in nursery school where you have to run with a marble in a spoon kept in your mouth. If the marble falls, there is no point coming first. Same is with life where health and relationships are the marble. Your striving is only worth it if there is harmony in your life. Else, you may achieve the success, but this spark, this feeling of being excited and alive, will start to die. ……………….

One thing about nurturing the spark - don't take life seriously. Life is not meant to be taken seriously, as we are really temporary here. We are like a pre-paid card with limited validity. If we are lucky, we may last another 50 years. And 50 years is just 2,500 weekends. Do we really need to get so worked up? …………….
It's ok, bunk a few classes, scoring low in couple of papers, goof up a few interviews, take leave from work, fall in love, little fights with your spouse. We are people, not programmed devices........." :)

"Don't be serious, be sincere."!!

Pain by Jim Morrison

"Rockstar" was the movie which introduced a person named "Jim Morrison" and all the crazy things he used to do (especially how people used to go crazy when he had shown middle finger with vengeance in his rock songs).
While reading about him and his painful life, i came across this which really is interesting :

People are afraid of themselves, of their own reality; their feelings most of all.

People talk about how great love is, but that’s bullshit.

Love hurts.

Feelings are disturbing.

People are told that pain is evil and dangerous.

How can they deal with love if they are afraid to feel?

Pain is meant to wake us up.

People try to hide their pain. But they are wrong.

Pain is something to carry, Like a Radio.

You feel your strength in the experience of pain.

It’s all in how you carry it. That’s what matters.

Pain is feeling. Your feelings are a part of you.

Your own reality.

If you feel ashamed of them, and hide them, you’re letting society destroy your reality.

You should stand up for your right to feel your pain !!

- Jim Morrison

Life - A Beautiful Definition

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there, to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson, or to help you figure out who you are or who you want to become.

You never know who these people may be – a roommate, a neighbor, a professor, a friend, a lover, or even a complete stranger – but when you lock eyes with them, you know at that very moment they will affect your life in some profound way.

Sometimes things happen to you that may seem horrible, painful, and unfair at first, but in reflection you find that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, willpower, or heart.

Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness, and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, whatever they may be, life would be like a smoothly paved straight flat road to nowhere. It would be safe and comfortable, but dull and utterly pointless.

The people you meet who affect your life, and the success and downfalls you experience, help to create who you are and who you become. Even the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact, they are sometimes the most important ones.

If someone loves you, give love back to them in whatever way you can, not only because they love you, but because in a way, they are teaching you to love and how to open your heart and eyes to things.

If someone hurts you, betrays you, or breaks your heart, forgive them, for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart.

Make every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from those moments everything that you possibly can for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people that you have never talked to before, and listen to what they have to say.

Let yourself fall in love, break free, and set your sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don’t believe in yourself, it will be hard for others to believe in you.

You can make anything you wish of your life. Create your own life and then go out and live it with absolutely no regrets.

And if you love someone tell them, for you never know what tomorrow may have in store.

Learn a lesson in life each day that you live!

Today is the tomorrow you were worried about yesterday.

It's all in the mind

An Indian Brahmin was interested in gaining supernatural powers.

Learning that a monk in Tibet could grant him his wishes, he undertook an arduous journey through the Himalayas to meet him.

The monk told the Brahmin: ‘‘The mantra to gain supernatural powers is simple.

Just say Buddham Sharanam Gachchami, Dhammam Sharanam Gachchami, Sangham Sharanam Gachchami three times, but don’t think of monkeys.’’

Content, the Brahmin thought: ‘‘I am such a learned man. Why should I think of monkeys when I chant the mantra?’’

But when he sat down to chant the mantra, the first thought that came to his mind was that of monkeys. Later, all he could think of was monkeys.

The monkeys roamed all over his consciousness until he lost his peace of mind.

Seeing his condition, the monk smiled: ‘‘If you force your mind to travel in a certain direction, it will go the other way.’’ :)

A Monk & A Woman

Short and meaningful story :

Two travelling monks reached a river where they met a young woman.
Wary of the current, she asked if they could carry her across.
One of the monks hesitated, but the other quickly picked her up on to his shoulders and carried her across the water to the other bank.
She thanked him and departed.
As the monks continued on their way, one was brooding and preoccupied.
Unable to hold his silence, he spoke out: “Brother, our spiritual training teaches us to avoid any contact with women, but you picked that one up on your shoulders and carried her!”
“Brother,” the second monk replied.
“I set her down on the other side, while you are still carrying her.”  :)

Facebook Addiction Disorder (F.A.D.) ;)

The 76-year-old woman Walked Down the hallway of Clearview Addiction Clinic, Searching for the right department. She passed signs for the 'Heroin Addiction Department (HAD)', the 'Smoking Addiction Department (SAD)' and the 'Bingo Addiction Department (BAD)'. Then she spotted the department she was looking for: 'Facebook Addiction Department (FAD)'.

It was the busiest department in the clinic, with about three dozen people filling the waiting room, most of them staring blankly into their Blackberries and i-Phones.
A middle-aged man with unkept hair was pacing the room, muttering, "I need to milk my cows. I need to milk my cows."

A twenty-something man was prone on the floor, his face buried in his hands, while a curly-haired woman comforted him, "Don't worry. It'll be all right." "I just don't understand it. I thought my update was LOL-worthy, but none of my friends even clicked the 'like' button."

"How long has it been?"

"Almost five minutes. That's like five months in the real world."

The 76-year-old woman waited until her name was called, then followed the receptionist into the office of Alfred Zulu, Facebook Addiction Counselor.

"Please have a seat, Edna," he said with a warm smile. "And tell me how it all started."

"Well, it's all my grandson's fault. He sent me an invitation to join Facebook. I had never heard of Facebook before, but I thought it was something for me, because I usually have my face in a book." "

"How soon were you hooked?"

"Faster than you can say 'create a profile.' I found myself on Facebook at least eight times each day -- and more times at night. Sometimes I'd wake up in the middle of the night to check it, just in case there was an update from one of my new friends in India . My husband didn't like that. He said that friendship is a precious thing and should never be outsourced.""What do you like most about Facebook?"

"What do you like MOST about Facebook?"

"It makes me feel like I have a life. In the real world, I have only five or six friends, but on Facebook, I have 674.

"Even I'm Friends With Juan Carlos Montoya. "

"Who's he?"

"I don't know, but he's got 4,000 friends, so he must be famous."

"Facebook has helped you make some connections, I see."

"Oh yes. I've even connected with some of the gals from high school -- I still call them 'gals.' I hadn't heard from some of them in ages, so it was exciting to look at their profiles and figure out who's retired, who's still working, and who's had some work done. I love browsing their photos and reading their updates. I know where they've been on vacation, which movies they've watched, and whether they hang their toilet paper over or under. I've also been playing a game with some of them."

"Let me guess. Farmville?"

"No, Mafia Wars. I’m a Hitman. No one messes with Edna." "

"Wouldn't you rather meet some of your friends in person?"

"No, not really. It's so much easier on Facebook. We don't need to gussy ourselves up. We don't need to take baths or wear perfume or use mouthwash. That's the best thing about Facebook -- you can't smell anyone. Everyone is attractive, because everyone has picked a good profile pic. One of the gals is using a profile pic that was taken, I'm pretty certain, during the Eisenhower Administration. "

"What pic are you using?"

"Well, I spent five hours searching for a profile pic, but couldn't find one I really liked. So I decided to visit the local beauty salon."

"To make yourself look prettier?"

"No, to take a pic of one of the young ladies there. That's what I'm using."

"Didn't your friends notice that you look different?"

"Some of them did, but I just told them I've been doing lots of yoga."

"When did you realize that your Facebooking might be a problem?"

"I realized it last Sunday night, when I was on Facebook and saw a message on my wall from my husband: 'I moved out of the house five days ago. Just thought you should know.'"

"What did you do?"

"What else? I unfriended HIM of course!" :)

A Glass Of Milk, Paid In Full

One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry. He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it slowly, and then asked, “How much do I owe you?” “You don’t owe me anything,” she replied. “Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness.” He said, “Then I thank you from my heart.”

As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit.

Year’s later that young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease. Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes. Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room. Dressed in his doctor’s gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to the case.

After a long struggle, the battle was won. Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge and the bill was sent to her room. She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally she looked, and something caught her attention on the side of the bill. She began to read the following words:

“Paid in full with one glass of milk”

Signed, Dr. Howard Kelly

The Truth:
As is often the case, someone has fictionalized the details of this story and gotten some of it wrong, but it is essentially a true event.

Dr. Howard Kelly was a distinguished physician who, in 1895, founded the Johns Hopkins Division of Gynecologic Oncology at Johns Hopkins University. According to Dr. Kelly's biographer, Audrey Davis, the doctor was on a walking trip through Northern Pennsylvania one spring day when we stopped by a farm house for a drink of water. A little girl answered his knock at the door and instead of water, brought him a glass of fresh milk. He visited with her briefly, then went his way. Sometime after that, the little girl came to him as a patient and needed surgery. After the surgery, the bill was brought to her room and on it were the words, "Paid in full with one glass of milk."

She....

Beautiful words, Beautiful Life

You may not be her first, her last or her only.

She loved before, she may love again.

But if she loves you now, what else matters?

She’s not perfect – You aren’t either, and the two of you may never be perfect together
But if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice and admit to being human and making mistakes,

Hold onto her and give her the most you can.

She may not be thinking about you every second of the day, but she will give you part of her that she knows you can break – her heart.

So, don’t hurt her, don’t change, don’t analyze and don’t expect more than she can give.

Smile when she makes you happy; let her know when she makes you mad,
And miss her when she is not there...

Life is simple, don’t make it complicated... :-)

End note :

"Women are so sensitive, they over-think every little thing and they care way more than they should, but that's what makes their love so strong.. :) "

A Little Boy, Cancer & Jesus

This is the most touching story i have ever came across..

Sally jumped up as soon as she saw the surgeon come out of the operating room. She said: “How is my little boy? Is he going to be all right? When can I see him?”

The surgeon said, “I’m sorry. We did all we could, but your boy didn’t make it.”

Sally said, “Why do little children get cancer? Doesn’t God care any more? Where were you, God, when my son needed you?”

The surgeon asked, “Would you like some time alone with your son? One of the nurses will be out in a few minutes, before he’s transported to the university.”

Sally asked the nurse to stay with her while she said good-bye to son. She ran her fingers lovingly through his thick red curly hair.

“Would you like a lock of his hair?” the nurse asked.

Sally nodded yes. The nurse cut a lock of the boy’s hair, put it in a plastic bag and handed it to Sally. The mother said, “It was Jimmy’s idea to donate his body to the university for study. He said it might help somebody else. “I said no at first, but Jimmy said, ‘Mom, I won’t be using it after I die. Maybe it will help some other little boy spend one more day with his Mom.” She went on, “My Jimmy had a heart of gold. Always thinking of someone else. Always wanting to help others if he could.”

Sally walked out of Children’s mercy Hospital for the last time, after spending most of the last six months there. She put the bag with Jimmy’s belongings on the seat beside her in the car. The drive home was difficult. It was even harder to enter the empty house. She carried Jimmy’s belongings, and the plastic bag with the lock of his hair to her son’s room. She started placing the model cars and other personal things back in his room exactly where he had always kept them. She laid down across his bed and, hugging his pillow, cried herself to sleep.

It was around midnight when Sally awoke. Laying beside her on the bed was a folded letter. The letter said:

“Dear Mom,

I know you’re going to miss me; but don’t think that I will ever forget you, or stop loving you, just ’cause I’m not around to say I LOVE YOU. I will always love you, Mom, even more with each day. Someday we will see each other again. Until then, if you want to adopt a little boy so you won’t be so lonely, that’s okay with me. He can have my room and old stuff to play with. But, if you decide to get a girl instead, she probably wouldn’t like the same things us boys do. You’ll have to buy her dolls and stuff girls like, you know. Don’t be sad thinking about me. This really is a neat place. Grandma and Grandpa met me as soon as I got here and showed me around some, but it will take a long time to see everything. The angels are so cool. I love to watch them fly. And, you know what? Jesus doesn’t look like any of his pictures. Yet, when I saw Him, I knew it was Him. Jesus himself took me to see GOD! And guess what, Mom? I got to sit on God’s knee and talk to Him, like I was somebody important. That’s when I told Him that I wanted to write you a letter, to tell you good-bye and everything. But I already knew that wasn’t allowed. Well, you know what Mom? God handed me some paper and His own personal pen to write you this letter. I think Gabriel is the name of the angel who is going to drop this letter off to you. God said for me to give you the answer to one of the questions you asked Him ‘Where was He when I needed him?’ “God said He was in the same place with me, as when His son Jesus was on the cross. He was right there, as He always is with all His children.

Oh, by the way, Mom, no one else can see what I’ve written except you. To everyone else this is just a blank piece of paper. Isn’t that cool? I have to give God His pen back now. He needs it to write some more names in the Book of Life. Tonight I get to sit at the table with Jesus for supper. I’m, sure the food will be great.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. I don’t hurt anymore. The cancer is all gone. I’m glad because I couldn’t stand that pain anymore and God couldn’t stand to see me hurt so much, either. That’s when He sent The Angel of Mercy to come get me. The Angel said I was a Special Delivery! How about that?

Signed with Love from: God, Jesus & Me...!!” :-)

Broken Dreams by Lauretta P. Burns

There have been millions of wonderful poems written till now. But this has really got a deep meaning. In simple words it really teaches us the way to live the life happily. Hearty Thanks Lauretta for such a beautiful poem in which you have defined life.

Broken Dreams

As children bring their broken toys
with tears for us to mend.
I brought my broken dreams to GOD
Because He was my Friend.

But then instead of leaving Him
in Peace to work alone,
I hung around and tried to help
With ways that were my own.

At last I snatched them back and cried
"How can You be so slow"?
"My child," He said,
"What could I do?
You never did let go."

by Lauretta P. Burns

Bless you all with wonderful life !!! :-)

Beautiful Lines By A Broken Heart !!!

Wonderful lines I came across. They really say a lot of things and I am sure every one in this world can relate themselves with these... <3

I Am Sorry It Had To End Like This.
I Am Sorry That I Can't Be What You Want Me To Be,
How You Want Me To Be.
I Am Sorry That Loving Me Caused You So Much Hurt.
I Am Sorry That I Have Done Nothing But Exacerbate Your Insecurities.
I Am Sorry That I Walked Into Your Life, Gave You Hope And Not Fulfilling Your Dreams.
I Am Sorry.
I Am Sorry.

I Am Not Sorry I Met You.
I Am Not Sorry I Fell In Love With You.
I Am Not Sorry For Letting You Into My Life Where No One Was Allowed For Years.
I Am Not Sorry For Loving You With All My Being While I Could.
I Am Not Sorry For Having Felt Wonderfully Loved And Cherished At The Expense Of Your Insecurities.

Your Life, My Life Will Go On.
With A Big Hole That Would Take A Long Time To Fill.
With Hurt That Will Take A Long Time To Heal.
With Hope That One Day The Pain Would Ease And Eventually Go Away.

My Love For You Will Never Go Away..... And That Is A Promise.

An Apple Story

You never know that there is almost everything in this world from which you learn.. I came across this Apple Story and it really has got nice message...

One day I stopped to think about growing apples. I was munching a delicious, juicy apple and took a big bite. As a result I got an apple seed into my mouth. I spat it out into my hand, with the intention of throwing it away. But instead I looked at the apple seed. Really looked. It was very dark brown, almost black. Its shape reminded me of a candle flame. A little dark brown candle flame…

I realized I was holding an apple tree in the palm of my hand. A little seed with the potential to become a beautiful big tree - a tree that could grow thousands of apples in its lifetime. Thousands of apples, each containing several seeds, each capable of growing a new tree which again could produce thousands of apples. Why then the world wasn't filled with apple trees?

It is a rule of nature that only a few of these seeds grow. Most never do or are destroyed early on in their growth.  And it came to my mind it's quite often so with people's dreams also. Wonderful ideas come to our minds but they die too soon - we don't tend to the little saplings, we don't protect them as we should. And then one day we wonder what happened to our dreams - why did they never come true?

I put the apple seed on the table, and bent down to see how the light was reflected from it, this nature's tiny wonder. I wondered when someone was seriously growing apples, how many times they had to try to get a seed to germinate? How much work did it require?

Maybe it was like with our dreams: the seeds of your dreams did not automatically grow. Like planting an apple tree It might take many trys: like a hundred job applications to get that good job. You might send your manuscript out two hundred times before it was accepted. You might meet dozens of people until you met the true friend.

But if you kept on sowing the seeds of your dream, one day you would succeed. And after that others would comment you were lucky to be successful - when in fact you probably failed more often than you would like to count. But you were good at failing - you learned, you adapted, and then with your new knowlegde you tried again. And again. And again. And one day success was yours.

I picked up the apple seed again - but instead of throwing it away I took an empty flower pot, poured some earth into it and planted the seed. Maybe one day it would grown into a proud tree. I'd never knew if I didn't try.

Missing Mamma - This 1's for everyone who have lost someone they love...

This is the best poem i have ever read in my life which expresses the feelings which are there in my heart since years...

Missing Mamma

by Christine McClimans

The sun came up this morning;

It wasn't very bright.

My dark mood casts a shadow;

It's hard to see the light.

We all have just one mother

And, now that her life on earth is done,

The emptiness and loss I feel

Make it hard to see the sun.

Tomorrow is a brand new day;

May the pain and sadness lighten.

I will remember all her love,

And then the sky will brighten.

Gone is not forgotten;

Her love reminds behind;

She's traveled in a new direction -

Love knows no space or time.

I will always love her.

She will care for me from above.

She will send me starlight and rainbows

To remind me of her love....

Friends & Memories

I don't know who has written these lines but they are made for each and every one of us..

It's time to rewind time folks.. This is for you all... :)

Walking Through The Lonely Path,

Covered With Dry Leaves...

Where,

Smiles Shared..

Love Was Made..

Heart was Broken..

&

Tears Spilled...

Then, You Step Into The Lonely Old Classroom,

0nly Memories Will Be There For Company,

You May See Yourself On Every Benches Laughing N Murmuring With Your Friends...

Then You'll Realize That...

"Years Ago , My Heaven Was

Here...

N Those Good Days Can

Never Come Back ... ''

Mummy and Papa .. I Love U...

I came across these very true lines while searching for some good stuffs.. Believe me people, these lines really touched my heart and they really give us a silent message in the end.. I won't say hope you like it, you must love it because life is expressed in words below.....

Mummy and Papa .. I love U...

When we were 1 year old, they fed us and bathed us. We thanked them by crying all night long.

When we were 3 years old, they made all our meals with love. We thanked them by tossing our plate on the floor.

When we were 6 years old, they walked us to School. We thanked them by screaming. "I'm not going!"

When we were 12 years old, they warned us not to watch too much TV shows. We thanked them by waiting until they left the house.

When we were 14, they paid for a week away at summer camp. We thanked them by forgetting to write a single letter and forgetting to give them a call.

When we were 15, they came home from work looking for a hug. We thanked them by having our room locked with loud music on.

When we were 18, they tried at our high school graduation. We thanked them by staying out partying until dawn and asking for a mobile phone.

When we were 19, they paid for our college tuition, drove us to Campus, and carried our bags. We thanked them by saying good-bye outside the campus so that we wouldn't be embarrassed in front of our friends.

When we were 21, they gave some advice and suggested certain careers for our future. We thanked them by not listening and saying "I know what I have to do".

When we were 22, they hugged us at our college graduation. We thanked them by saying whether they could pay for trip to foreign location.

When we were 24, they met our fiance and asked about our plans for the future. We thanked them by glaring and growling "Muuhh-ther, please".

When we were 25, they helped to pay for our wedding, and they cried and told us how deeply they loved us. We thanked them by moving halfway across the country with their money.

When we were 30, they called to give us advice on the baby. We thanked them by telling them, "Things are different now ".

When we were 40, they called up to remind us of a relative's birth day. We thanked them by saying we were "really busy right now".

If they are still around,

let us never forget to love them more than ever

and if they are not, let us remember their

unconditional love and pass it on.

Let us always remember to love our parents

because we only have

One Mother

and

One Father

in our life time

Lalbaug cha raja 2011

Lalbaug cha raja 2011

Yes, you read it right. He is the king. Not only the king of “Lalbaug” but of Mumbai. The statistics says last year i.e in 2010, the total numbers of people visited lalbaug were 2 crores and the total offering was 5 crores along with gold and other ornaments. This year i.e in 2011, initial assumption says, it would double the amount of devotees as well as offerings. It shows how much trust people have in lalbaug cha raja. If things are like this, who would not want to get a glimpse of king of all Ganesha idols?

Here comes my experience of ” Lalbaug cha raja” this year.
I have decided to visit “Lalbaug cha raja” on Saturday night so that I can reach home by Sunday afternoon and can have some rest before facing Monday blues in office. But someone has rightly said, “Things are never the way you think”. This was what I had thought and planned but god had some different plans for me. He was not going to give me a chance to touch his feet that easily. You need to suffer before you get the success.
We got down at Dadar station, took a cab till Lower Parel ( Kala Chowki ) and joined one of the longest queues of devotees at 11:00 PM. For your information folks, there are basically 2 queues to get the darshan of lalbaug cha raja. One is “Mukh Darshan Queue” (where you get the chance to see the idol from a distance) and second “Mannat Queue” (where you get the chance to touch the feet of the idol). Obviously mannat queue takes more time than the mukh darshan queue. We joined “Mannat Queue”. I have noticed that before the actual hall of “lalbaug” starts, there was already a queue for 6-7 kilometers on road. And then there were total of 15 different sections inside the hall. You start from section 15 and then you reach the section 1 which is the last section. I think walking is not a proper word to use, I would rather say we were crawling towards victory. So queue started crawling as if it is competing with Tortoise and we followed as we could not help it. On the way there was free food, free water and free medical help in case needed. Also there were lots of announcements  asking elderly people and pregnant or women with small babies not to stand in line. People were enchanting Ganesh Mantras and roaring the bappa’s best line “Ganapati Bappa Morya” as loud as they could. Total place had spiritual ambiance.
We kept walking, sometimes also sat on the chair they provided and never allowed ourselves to get tired. I made friends there right from a 5 year old kid to 60 year old man. After standing in a queue for more than 2 hours, you could easily recognize the faces that who are with you from the start and who all are newly added. We motivated each other. We also discussed lots of things about “lalbaug cha raja”, its history, comparison of all years, lots of statistics about when we will reach, about all the wishes which got fulfilled when people worshiped at lalbaug and almost everything. Of course we had ample amount of time and had nothing to do apart from waiting, waiting and waiting.
Our wish and constant inspiration kept us alive and we reached slowly but happily to the section 1.Our efforts bore fruit. I was excited. There was something in my heart that was telling me that these 25 hours of waiting are worth it. Yes, it took 25 hours to touch the feet of my lord for hardly 5 seconds. We got darshan at 11:15 PM on Sunday But tell you people, those 5 seconds are sufficient to forget all your sufferings. It is like an achievement. You feel good about yourself. You say ,” yes , I did it” because there are many people on the way who could not reach till final stage due to either they think they would not able to reach there or may be because there body starts giving ill-signals. So there was I, extremely euphoric, that was the kind of happiness which can make you cry.

This experience also gives you lots of lessons about life. I have noted down some of mine.

Life lessons which “lalbaug cha raja” taught me.

Anger- When people were jumping into queue from nowhere :-@, When people were fighting for a place and using bad words. This was not acceptable. You must keep your head cool and behave maturely. Because that is what god expects from us.

Frustration- After finishing section 8 of around 50 zig zag lines, I thought there would be some relief but no, there was one more huge section with 100 lines was welcoming me with open arms :-/ and later on these superb surprises continued till we reached section 1 where there was no more zigzag. Whew!!

Patience- When our queue was moving at the speed of 5steps/1hr :-( Seriously, there was a time when we were standing on the same place for more than 1 and half hour because they were doing some clean-up activities and also some celebrity has given a visit.

Inspiration- When in the same queue, I saw a person walking on his knees... It made me think and gave me strength O:-) He was walking with the support of his knees and palms. After looking at the confidence on his face, I asked myself “Hiren, if he can do the same thing on knees then it would be shameful for me if could not complete it with my feet”

We all are ONE- When I saw a Muslim person not only worshiping for Ganesha but have also won some “lucky draw” price out of all devotees :-) Yes, god gave us perfect example and also have left strong message saying that we all are one and all have same purpose on this earth to help each other and to live a happy & peaceful life. Because we all know, in the end, it’s between us and god. We will have to answer him for every sin.

Happiness – After standing in a queue for 25 hours, I got chance to touch the feet of Lord Ganesha for 5 seconds. But it was worth it and those 5 seconds were enough to forget all the sufferings. My eyes were filled and I was euphoric O:-)

I hope this experience will make you smile in the end and I wish that ganesha bring extreme happiness to your life, keep you healthy and fulfill all your dreams.

Say it with me – “ Ganapati Bappa Morya” “ Lalbaug cha rajacha , Vijay aso “

True Story of the sacrifice of Mother

This is a true story of Mother’s Sacrifice during the China Earthquake.

After the Earthquake had subsided, when the rescuers reached the ruins of a young woman’s house, they saw her dead body through the cracks. But her pose was somehow strange that she knelt on her knees like a person was worshiping; her body was leaning forward, and her two hands were supporting by an object. The collapsed house had crashed her back and her head.

With so many difficulties, the leader of the rescuer team put his hand through a narrow gap on the wall to reach the woman’s body. He was hoping that this woman could be still alive. However, the cold and stiff body told him that she had passed away for sure.
He and the rest of the team left this house and were going to search the next collapsed building. For some reasons, the team leader was driven by a compelling force to go back to the ruin house of the dead woman. Again, he knelt down and used his had through the narrow cracks to search the little space under the dead body. Suddenly, he screamed with excitement,” A child! There is a child!

The whole team worked together; carefully they removed the piles of ruined objects around the dead woman. There was a 3 month old little boy wrapped in a flowery blanket under his mother’s dead body. Obviously, the woman had made an ultimate sacrifice for saving her son. When her house was falling, she used her body to make a cover to protect her son. The little boy was still sleeping peacefully when the team leader picked him up.
The medical doctor came quickly to exam the little boy. After he opened the blanket, he saw a cell phone inside the blanket. There was a text message on the screen. It said,”If you can survive, you must remember that I love you.” This cell phone was passing around from one hand to another. Every body that read the message wept.”

If you can survive, you must remember that I love you. Such is the mother’s love for her child!!

Remember, if you are reading this you are alive & no matter what, your mother loves you!

Hope these were helpful. On an ending note, here comes a touching poem. I would call it best in such a situation. After reading this one, you would feel, it's "made for you" poem.

How do you walk away from someone you love
And take the road of friend;
Can you reroute the course you have taken
And start over once again?

I don't really want to let you go
But inside me I know I must;
The times we've loved . . . the times you've left
My heart says stay . . . but it's my mind I must trust.

We have shared so much together
Laughter . . . fun times . . . tears;
Yet sometimes we can't turn back time
We must walk away, and allow ourselves to heal.

I know one day you will be happy
And your soul mate you will find;
I know we each have one out there
Even if for now . . . only in our minds.

May life be gentle with you
May God's best come your way;
And on some quiet tomorrow
You will realize things were better this way......by Judy Burnette

Positive Words - Really Beautiful !!

I have read this somewhere , i loved it and believe me , its worth doing...

When I approached the bus stop, positive words were the last thing I wanted to hear. The day had not started well - my old car would not start, I was late as it was and now I had to use the bus. Taxi, you say? I could barely make ends meet after losing my job so I was not going to use any extra money if I could avoid it. And to top it off I felt how the wind was messing up my well done hair.

Obviously the universe had decided otherwise. I could see her from afar. A chirpy looking old lady. You know the type: looking at the rain like it was something wonderful, humming a little tune and starting up a conversation. Gosh, I certainly did not wish to meet such a person. They always pushed their nose to someone else's business.

But what could I do? She had obviously noticed me already and was beaming at me from under her umbrella. I tried to look like I was deep in my thoughts, maybe she would ignore me.

- A very good morning! her positive words made me sigh.

- Morning… I managed to say.

She was elderly, after all, and my parents had taught me respect for older people.

- A bit of a rainy day! she smiled.

- Oh yes, awful weather! I said, trying to keep the conversation short.

- Well, I have always enjoyed rainy weather! the old lady said.

I looked at the road, hoping the bus would arrive already. I said nothing, just nodded.

- I mean just look at the lovely umbrellas!

- The… what?

- The umbrellas! I just love the different colours and designs. You wouldn't see them if it never rained! I especially love the ones that have positive words written on them.

Yes, you would… I thought but tried to smile at her politely. I noticed her own umbrella. "What a lovely day" it said.

- I see you have positive words on your own umbrella too, I commented when the silence was getting a bit awkward.

Where was that bus?

- Oh yes! She smiled and looked up at her umbrella, - I bought after the most embarrassing experience of my life.

She giggled at some fun memory. I did not know should I ask her or not, but now she was smiling broadly at me.

- Oh…? I had to admit I was curious.

- Well, you see I used to be a consultant. My speciality was positive thinking. I trained personnel in companies of different sizes. Positive words especially was what I emphasized in my training.

I must have looked a bit baffled.

- Many people don´t pay attention how much the words they use affect their emotions. If you use negative words, you are bound to feel more negative than if you use positive words. For example when you say "I hate red cars" when you could say "I like blue cars." Concentrate with positive words on what you like instead of what you don´t like. Mostly it is just a habit we´ve never noticed.

I nodded.

- But back to my most embarrassing moment. I was invited to address a big audience of a very large corporation. It was quite a thing - women consultants were not taken so seriously back then. I had worked on the presentation for weeks to get it right. I was ready. And to make myself look trustworthy I had bought a new suit - in a hurry. The skirt was a bit loose, but the jacket fit well. I took a deep breath and walked on the stage. And right when I was about to reach the centre of the stage, it happened. I suddenly felt the zipper open - and my skirt fell to my ankles.

- Oh my God! I said.

- That´s what I thought too, she laughed,- There I was, a consultant that was supposed to talk about positive words to an audience that was staring at me, with my skirt around my ankles.

- What did you do? I asked.

- Well. This was a do it or die -kind of situation. I had to take it under control.

She giggled.

- I don´t know where the idea came. I turned my head and looked at the audience that was totally silent. "Got your attention, didn´t I?" I asked. There were a few laughs in the audience. "And you are certain the Positive Words consultant just cannot come up with any positive words about this kind of a situation, aren´t you?" This time someone said "I´d like to see you try!"

The old lady was wiping tears of mirth from her cheeks now.

- Well, I looked at the audience and said: "The positive words about this situation are: Now I know what the most embarrassing moment of my life is like. I have now experienced it and from now on I don´t have to be afraid of anything."

- What did they say? I wanted to know.

- They applauded. And I have to say my lecture for positive words has never had such an attentive audience as that one. After I had pulled my skirt up, that is.

I had to laugh. I saw the whole thing in my mind´s eye.

- Good! the old lady said and took a little notebook from her pocket. We were standing right next to each other so I saw what it was she was doing. It was a tiny diary. And there was nothing but small smiley faces she had drawn there. While I watched, she used the tiny pen attached to the diary and drew one more.

- What´s that? I asked as she clearly made no attempt to hide what she was doing.

- This is my positive words diary, she said.

- But… There are no words, just those little smileys there.

- Exactly. This is a diary where I follow the effect of my positive words. When I see someone who is obviously feeling low - and trust me, dear, you were looking like that - I will try to say something that will make them smile. A little smile goes a long way in cheering up someone. When I succeed, I draw a little smile here. Look!

She handed me her diary. I noticed she had written on the cover "Positive words" and a smiley. The whole diary was full of tiny smiling faces.

- You have made this many people smile this year? I asked, leafing through the diary, - But here are… hundreds… thousands…?

- Oh yes. You see I have no family left and thought I´d rather spend my golden years spreading some smiles instead of sitting indoors. I have to admit I am a bit selfish - I don´t do this only because it makes others feel better. I do it because it makes me feel good.

The bus approached. I waved at it and gave way for the old lady to step in, but she shook her head.

- No, no, dear. I am not going into the bus. I´ll just continue my way.

I saw her walking under her bright blue umbrella. "What a lovely day!" the umbrella said. Then the bus turned and she disappeared from view. I looked at the scenery, deep in my thoughts.

I felt the eyes looking at me from across the isle. A little girl was sitting there with her mom. She was holding a much worn rag doll and it was obvious the mother could not afford to buy the finest toys. Her mom smiled at me, seeing her daughter looking at me.

- What a lovely doll you have! I am sure I have never seen such a pretty doll! I said to the child.

She looked at her rag doll, then at me - and the most wonderful smile I have ever seen spread on her face.

- Look, Mommy! The lady said my doll is beautiful! she lifted the doll up in the air.

The mother smiled back at me. I reached for my bag and took out my appointment book. I opened that day´s page and carefully drew two smiling faces.
