Since the time I've read this article in news paper, I've started thanking this cute little gift of God called "Squirrel". It actually makes you feel really good.
Before few years, a survey was taken and a question was asked to many people around the world:
"How would it affect your life if "Squirrels" disappears from the mother earth?"
95% of people said, "so what, it would be very sad to know but our life would go on.. Many endangered species have disappeared from the earth till now and we don't see any adverse effect on our day to day life.."
But they were shocked after knowing the truth, the story behind forgetfulness of squirrels goes like this.. It will actually make you realize that how someone's inability could be a blessing for all of us..
For squirrels, a little forgetfulness can turn into a lot of trees. Every year in autumn, squirrels "squirrel away" numerous nuts. It is estimated that each gray (ground) squirrel buries at least 1,000 nuts every fall, possibly as many as 10,000 nuts in one season. The squirrels can bury the nuts several inches deep. They locate their buried nuts by smell, and are able to find nuts buried under a foot or more of snow. But they can forget. It is estimated that millions of trees in the world are accidentally planted by squirrels that bury nuts and then forget where they hid them. And believe me or not, 75% of trees on our mother earth is because of this forgetful nature. So shouldn't we grateful to them? Imagine your life without squirrels. What about our everyday breathing? What about Global Warming? What about rain? What about those shades in scorching summer afternoons?
I thank them every time I see them and you know what? when I do that I actually see them smiling back at me with that cute little adoring face..
Be grateful to every single creature on this earth, they all are needed to complete this cycle called "Life" :)
